The opening ceremony of the Kazakhstan Championship among athletes with hearing impairments was held in Ust-Kamenogorsk. According to the organizers of the competition, the main goal is to improve the skills and qualifications of athletes.
– More than 150 athletes from 13 regions of the country are participating in the championship. During the competition, several sets of medals will be up for grabs, as well as preliminary selection for the Deaflympics to be held in Tokyo in November, - noted the senior coach of the Kazakhstan national team Bogdan Veselsky.
The competition program includes several types of track and field athletics:
Sprint running
Middle and long distance running
Long and high jump
Javelin throw
Relay races and other disciplines
– We brought 11 athletes from the city of Petropavlovsk to the championship: 10 adult athletes and one girl. We expect high results from this competition. Because the championship is one of the important stages of qualifying for the Deaflympics to be held in November 2025, - said Rustam Shake, coach of the UNIT sports club.
Athletes from Almaty, Pavlodar, Mangystau, Karaganda, Zhambyl, Akmola, Kostanay, Shymkent, East Kazakhstan, Abai regions and other regions are participating in the championship.
