As part of his working visit to the PRC, Almaty Mayor Erbolat Dossayev met with Wang Jiu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tus-Holdings Co. . The parties discussed the prospects for cooperation in innovation, technological development and investment projects.
Tus-Holdings Co. is a scientific and technological investment public-private holding group founded on the basis of Tsinghua University. Its market capitalization is 28 billion US dollars. The company has innovation technology centers in more than 80 cities around the world, more than 200 technology incubators and 400 technology parks. Tus-Holdings Co. is also implementing the TusPark project in Beijing. This is the largest university-based science and technology park in the world.
During the meeting, the possibility of implementing projects such as the creation of a business incubator, an educational cluster and a science park in Kazakhstan was considered.

According to Erbolat Dossayev, high-tech industries, creative industries, IT sectors and tourism are rapidly developing in Almaty as part of economic diversification. The city's Industrial Zone and the ITP SEZ have become the main platforms for forming clusters in the automotive industry, medical device production, scientific and educational sectors, and ICT (information and communication technologies).
“In December last year, the international rating agency Fitch confirmed the sovereign credit rating of Almaty at “BBB+”. This is higher than the sovereign rating of the Republic of Kazakhstan at “BBB”. Almaty's high credit rating is associated with its dynamic economic development, significant growth in local budget revenues, and low debt burden. As the largest economic center of Kazakhstan, our city is ready to become a major hub for Chinese investments,” said Yerbolat Dossayev.
In turn, Wang Jiu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tus-Holdings Co., noted that “Almaty is one of the most attractive investment regions in Kazakhstan.” He said that the company is interested in partnering with the ITP SEZ and sees Kazakhstan as a promising market for implementing scientific and technological initiatives.
Tus-Holdings Co. representatives are planning to visit Kazakhstan in March this year and hold a meeting to study the local market. The issue of opening a joint technopark in Almaty with a 50/50 share will also be considered.

Following the negotiations, Yerbolat Dossayev thanked the representatives of Tus-Holdings Co. for taking the time to meet and said that he was confident in a mutually beneficial partnership in the development of the technological entrepreneurship ecosystem.
