As part of his official visit to China, Almaty Mayor Yerbolat Dossayev met with Wang Chunying, President of the Export-Import Bank of China (China Exim Bank).
The main topic of the negotiations was to discuss the terms of financing major infrastructure projects, in particular, the expansion of the Almaty metro network.
“We highly appreciate the close political dialogue between the leaders of our countries, which is the basis for active and fruitful cooperation. Projects for the construction of metro lines in Almaty will be implemented on the principle of an EPC+F-contract, involving external borrowing under the guarantee of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan. We are ready to discuss in detail the proposals of China Exim Bank on the terms of financing this project, and also invite you to participate in the implementation of other infrastructure projects,” noted Almaty Akim Yerbolat Dossayev.
In turn, Ms. Wang Chunying reported that Exim Bank has been financing various projects in Kazakhstan for 16 years and has extensive experience in investing in road infrastructure, energy, industry and real estate construction.
“An important area of our interaction with Kazakhstan is transport and infrastructure construction. We have signed agreements for 5 major road projects worth 2.4 billion US dollars. Now we are ready to make every effort to cooperate with the Almaty Akimat,” said Wang Chunying.
Following the results of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to continue joint work and strengthen partnership relations.
