The Governor of the West Kazakhstan region, Nariman Toregaliyev, paid a working visit to the Orenburg region of the Russian Federation. As part of the visit, he met with the Vice-Governor of the Orenburg region - Deputy Prime Minister for Economic and Investment Policy Ignat Petukhov. At the meeting, the parties discussed the main issues of trade and economic cooperation and business development.
During the meeting, Nariman Toregaliyev spoke about the investment potential of the West Kazakhstan region and noted that a number of preferences and benefits are provided at the legislative level for the comfortable functioning of enterprises.
In addition, the Governor of the West Kazakhstan region emphasized the importance of stable partnership between the two regions and highlighted the positive dynamics of economic ties.
“Our President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev constantly notes that relations between Kazakhstan and Russia are an example of strong and unshakable friendship. In January-November 2024, the foreign trade turnover of the West Kazakhstan region with the Russian Federation amounted to $681.6 million,” said Nariman Toregaliev.
The Orenburg region plays a special role in this mutual cooperation, during this period the trade turnover between the two regions reached $12.1 million. Gas, ferrous metal scrap and waste, barley are exported from the West Kazakhstan region to the Orenburg region, while grain and dairy products, concrete and metal products, and other goods in demand in the local market are supplied from Orenburg.
“Taking advantage of this opportunity, I invite business representatives to active cooperation. We have created favorable conditions for the development of joint projects, and we are ready to provide the necessary support,” the head of the region noted.
In addition to trade and economic issues, the meeting discussed cooperation in healthcare, education, science, culture, agriculture and other areas.
Vice-Governor of the Orenburg region Ignat Petukhov expressed interest in establishing cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
In addition, the akim of the West Kazakhstan region invited representatives of the Orenburg region to participate in the XXI Interregional Cooperation Forum between Kazakhstan and Russia. The forum will be a platform for discussing new joint initiatives and strengthening partnership ties.
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to sign a memorandum of cooperation.
