The regional youth forum "Year of Working Professions: Opening New Opportunities" was officially opened in Bolashaq Saraiy in Kokshetau. The event was held within the framework of the Year of Working Professions declared by the Head of State and became an important platform for dialogue between government officials, business, educational institutions and young people.
The forum brought together more than 500 participants, 29 colleges and 44 social partners representing the leading companies of the region. Akmola region holds leading positions in the agro-industrial sector, construction, metallurgy and tourism. More than 800 industrial enterprises in the region provide thousands of jobs. The development of technical and vocational education plays an important role for the economy, and the training of young specialists is the basis for the generational continuity of working professions.
The Youth Forum was held with the participation of the Governor of the Akmola region Marat Akhmetzhanov, Deputy of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Talgat Zhunisuly, President of the Talap NJSC Sanzhar Tatibekov, and Hero of Socialist Labor Yesilbay Kadralin.
They got acquainted with the work of the interactive exhibition. This exhibition presents more than 10 leading colleges of the region, where popular specialties are taught, from IT and robotics to confectionery, veterinary medicine and surveying.
As the Governor of the Akmola region Marat Akhmetzhanov noted, today the Akmola team has 35 gold, 21 silver and 30 bronze medals, as well as 57 "Medallions of Excellence". All of them were won at the WorldSkills professional skills competition. In addition, Industrial Councils operate in all TVET organizations in the region with the participation of more than 700 enterprises, and targeted training of personnel contributes to the effective employment of graduates.
“The President has declared 2025 the Year of Working Professions, paying special attention to raising the status of a working person. This decision demonstrates the important role of workers in the development of the country and strengthening its economic potential. We must not only hold meetings, but also take concrete measures. Today, more than 20 thousand students are receiving professional education in the region. This will allow them to get a job while studying, and will create conditions for employers to train future specialists for their enterprises. Dear young people, today many working professions are of a high-tech nature, requiring in-depth knowledge in the field of engineering, technology, and even programming. These professions are becoming more and more complex and interesting,” said Akim of Akmola region Marat Akhmetzhanov.
It should be noted that a regional map of the needs for personnel in the region has been developed - the Atlas of New Professions and Competencies of Akmola region. This collection presents new, transforming and disappearing professions. They cover such key areas as manufacturing, agriculture and forestry, and the service sector. This Atlas will become the basis for further planning the educational process and training specialists in demand in the labor market.
The official part of the forum ended with a demonstration of clothing models created by college students from Akmola region. In addition, social partners shared their successful career paths.
The final part of the program ended with a concert by the “ABYROY” group.
In the second half of the forum, schoolchildren and college students will participate in master classes in various specialties and try themselves in foresight sessions. Leading experts from the region and representatives of various industries have been invited as speakers for the session.
The forum will last for two days - February 19-20.
The program includes: exhibitions, discussions, professional trainings, networking and other events.
