YEAR OF WORKING PROFESSIONS: ROUND TABLE HELD AT ZHETISU UNIVERSITY
Today, a regional round table was held at I. Zhansugurov Zhetisu University as part of the Year of Working Professions. The event was opened and addressed by Sayasat Nurbek, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
“2025 is declared the Year of Working Professions. This initiative of the Head of State is important for the socio-economic development of the country,” the head of the department said.
The minister also noted the importance of training personnel in accordance with the labor market and public demand, and providing vocational guidance from an early age.
The round table was attended by Marlen Kolbayev, Deputy Akim of Zhetysu Region, Ali Soltanbekov, Deputy Head of the Zhetysu Region Education Department, Olzhas Sakenov, Head of the “My Profession is My Future” Office, college directors of Zhetysu Region, and media representatives.
The Chairman of the Board - Rector of Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov, Yermek Boribayev, emphasized that providing vocational guidance from an early age is one of the objectives of the “My Profession is My Future” project.
“A regional project office was established on the basis of Zhetysu University in 2023, and university employees underwent a foresight research course. "They developed a regional map of the shortage of personnel in the Zhetysu region and identified five areas of need for the region," the rector said, expressing gratitude to the college directors who, as industry experts, participated in the development of the regional map.
The meeting also included a presentation of the "Regional Map of the Need for Specialists in the Zhetysu Region", developed by the "My Profession - My Future" project office in collaboration with the local akimat.
