"I held a reporting meeting with residents of the Yesil district. The meeting lasted 5 hours. In the "Open Microphone" format, everyone who expressed interest asked questions and made suggestions.
Residents expressed their concerns about social facilities (schools, clinics), road infrastructure, the quality of construction of residential complexes, landscaping of courtyards and public places, transportation, lighting, installation of warm bus stops, etc. raised issues.
For example, last year, 6 schools were built in the Yesil district within the framework of the “Cozy School” national project, in 2013 a bus stop was installed, 11.4 km of outdoor lighting cables were replaced, etc.
Large-scale work was carried out on the improvement of public spaces: in the botanical garden, in the adjacent territory of the EXPO, on Dostyk, Kunayev, Akmeshit streets, along Mangilik el avenue; flower beds were built in Ulytau, Keruen, etc. This year, it is planned to modernize the embankment of the Yesil River, build a flower bed in the “YUG” residential complex of the Prigorodny settlement, etc. All of this work will continue this year.
Work was undertaken to resolve the issues raised during the meeting. We divide them into short, medium and long-term. Such meetings are held in all districts of the city,” wrote Zhenis Kasymbek.

Today, Deputy Akim of the region Beisenbai Tazhibayev once again received residents of the region in the areas he leads. The personal reception was attended by deputies and responsible representatives of the relevant departments.
Residents who came to the reception raised issues related to health, employment, and education. KAZNU SCIENTISTS ARE RESEARCHING THE ANTI-CANCER PROPERTIES OF THE TURKEY PLANT
Scientists of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University have improved the methods of developing anti-cancer drugs. University specialists studied the turkey plant growing in the Ili-Balkhash region and determined its anti-cancer activity.
The turkey has been widely used in folk medicine since ancient times. However, this plant has not been fully studied scientifically. For the first time, KazNU scientists conducted large-scale research aimed at identifying the phytochemical and biologically active substances contained in it. According to the researchers, this project will contribute to the development of domestic pharmaceuticals in the future.
"As a result of the project, it was found that the plant of the pea-colored camellia plant has high biological activity. Plant extracts were distinguished by antioxidant, antimicrobial and cytotoxic properties. For example, the ethanol extract showed strong antioxidant activity, and the ethyl acetate extract was effective against bacteria. It was also proven that certain plant extracts can resist leukemia cells. This can be used in the future for anti-cancer drugs," says Gulzat Kayranova, a senior lecturer at KazNU.
Associate Professor Assem Mamurova, PhD, Professor from Turkey Ahmet Beyatli, and Kazakh National University doctoral student Gulzat Kayranova are working on the scientific project. In the future, specialists plan to obtain a patent and prepare articles for high-ranking scientific journals.
