The Alatau Traditional Art Theater is preparing new performances for the audience. Among them are performances dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the great poet, philosopher Abai Kunanbayuly and the 100th anniversary of the outstanding composer Nurgisa Tlendiev. Also, one of the upcoming premieres is the musical drama "Estaydin Korlany", which tells the legendary story of eternal love. The premiere of these performances is scheduled for the fall of 2025.
In the current VIII season, the theater repertoire has been replenished with four new performances: the sound drama "Mamluk. Sultan Beibarys", the QULAN extravaganza, the Alatau FM radiosy musical comedy and the Temirtas requiem performance based on the songs of the famous Kazakh composer, poet, and aitys master Birzhan sal Kozhagulyuly.
"The theater's repertoire includes interesting sound dramas, bright extravaganzas, musical comedies, and requiem performances. These bold experiments open up new horizons for our troupe, give the audience a unique theatrical experience, and expand the boundaries of traditional theater. It is worth noting that last year, more than 50 performances were staged on the theater stage, the audience increased, and a rich cultural program was created. In total, 62 thousand people watched our performances in 2024 - this is a record figure for the last three years,” said theater director Maksat Nuraliev at a briefing of the Regional Communications Service.
The performances of the Alatau Theater are accompanied by the live accompaniment of the Alatau ethno-folklore ensemble, which skillfully plays more than 20 national instruments. The troupe includes the Alatau dance ensemble, poets, traditional song performers, and talented actors.

Today, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev to discuss the issue of providing cities and villages with clean drinking water. At the meeting, Minister of Industry and Construction Kanat Sharlapayev said that all cities in the Syr region are 100 percent supplied with drinking water, and the region's drinking water supply has reached 98.6 percent.
The regional governor Nurlybek Nalibayev participated in the meeting via selector mode.
There are 4 cities and 223 rural settlements in the region. Last year, water desalination plants were installed in two of the 27 settlements that were not connected to the centralized drinking water system. Two villages were given the status of a settlement and optimized. In accordance with the instructions of the Head of State, a special Road Map has been developed to provide high-quality drinking water to the remaining 23 settlements by the end of the year, and work is underway according to the plan.
This year, funds have been allocated from the republican budget to provide clean drinking water to the settlements of "Erimbetzhaga", "Tastubek", Shaken, "Shili", "Sarbulak", and "Shitubek". Contractors have been identified and construction work is underway.
