First Vice Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Bolat Bekniyaz was awarded the Order of "Kurmet". The state award was presented by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov.
IMPORTANT: Bolat Bekniyaz has worked in the field of hydrogeology and water management for 40 years. Over the years, he worked in senior positions in the Committee of Geology and Subsoil Protection, the Committee on Water Resources of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Kazakhstan, JSC Eurasian Water Center and the secretariat of the Security Council. He was Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Water Resources of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Director of the Executive Directorate of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea in Kazakhstan.

Experts from the Netherlands are holding the second seminar on flood risk management in Astana. The purpose of the event is to improve the skills of specialists dealing with flood control issues.
important: In May, the Ministry signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of water resources management with the Delft Institute of Water Education (IHE Delft), which is based in the Netherlands. The memorandum also provides for the issue of professional development of Kazakhstani specialists.

Kyzylorda farmers introduced water-saving technologies and saved 200 million cubic meters of water, which were eventually sent to the Aral Sea.
important: Since the beginning of the year, about 2 billion cubic meters of water have been sent to the Northern Aral Sea. Today, the total volume of water in the sea has reached 22 billion cubic meters.

Since the beginning of the year, the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation has conducted a multifactorial survey of 63 hydraulic structures. By the end of the year, the Ministry plans a multifactorial survey of 19 more facilities.
IMPORTANT: A multifactorial inspection of facilities is carried out to ensure their safe operation and prevent emergencies. It should be noted that according to the draft of the new Water Code, every five years hydraulic structures are required to undergo a multifactorial inspection.

KARAGANDA REGION
To prepare for the flood period of 2025, the branch of Kazvodkhoz "K. Satpayev Canal" cleared culverts under channel No. 57 and channel channel No. 56. Filling of depressions and strengthening of enclosing dams on ponds near canal No. 55, as well as repair of the dam crest on canal No. 54a were carried out.

TURKESTAN REGION
The branch of Kazvodkhoz in the Turkestan region is carrying out work on cleaning sand and stone from the berm on the right slope of the Bolshoy Kelessky main Canal. As of today, 3,000 cubic meters of soil have been removed.
