In 2024, the harvesting area of crops in the region amounted to 749.5 thousand hectares. Of these, cereals occupied 299.0 thousand hectares, oilseeds – 295.8 thousand hectares, potatoes – 5.8 thousand hectares, vegetables – 5.4 thousand hectares, and forage crops – 143.5 thousand hectares. This was told by the head of the Department of Agriculture Yertai Kuanbayev during an expanded staff meeting of the akimat of the Abai region.
To date, grain harvesting has been completed by 100%. 449.7 thousand tons of grain were harvested with an average yield of 15.0 c/ha. Oilseeds were also harvested in full, which made it possible to harvest 444.8 thousand tons with a similar yield.
Potatoes from an area of 5.8 thousand hectares showed a result of 229.8 kg /ha, which eventually gave 134.2 thousand tons of products. Vegetable harvesting has also been completed – 128.4 thousand tons have been harvested with a yield of 236.9 c/ha.
4 thousand tractors, 2.4 thousand combines and 700 harvesters were involved in the harvesting work. For the smooth operation of agricultural machinery, 15.3 thousand tons of preferential diesel fuel were allocated at a price of 250 tenge per liter.
Special attention is paid to improving the quality of the seed material. This year, the share of elite seed varieties increased to 8.3%, which is 0.8% more than in 2023. 49 thousand tons of mineral fertilizers were also introduced, which is 100% of the planned volume.
As part of the renewal of the machine and tractor fleet, 547 units of equipment worth 7 billion tenge were purchased through KazAgroFinance JSC. The storage facilities for the harvest include licensed elevators with a total capacity of 206 thousand tons and grain storage facilities for 870.9 thousand tons of farms.
39.6 thousand tons of seeds have already been harvested for spring sowing in 2025, which is 103.3% of the required volume. The finch is plowed on an area of 175.8 thousand hectares, winter crops are sown on 6.7 thousand hectares.
