The main causes of fires in the residential sector are violations of the rules of installation and technical operation of electrical equipment, violations of fire safety rules during the installation and operation of furnace heating and careless handling of fire by the population.
As part of the Republican Fire Safety Month, large-scale fire prevention raids have been organized in the regions. During the yard rounds of the residential sector, explanatory work is carried out with residents. Special attention is paid to socially vulnerable segments of the population and pensioners.
Thus, during a joint raid in the village of Atameken with representatives of local executive bodies, deputies, volunteers, police, carbon monoxide sensors and pre-heating metal sheets were installed in the homes of socially vulnerable segments of the population by employees of the Emergency Department of the Pavlodar region.
"687 carbon monoxide sensors have been installed on the territory of the region at the expense of local executive bodies and non-governmental organizations. Work has been carried out to clean the chimneys of the heating furnace in 98 houses, pre-heating metal sheets have been installed in 87 houses. In addition, in order to reach the population more widely, together with a chain of stores, packages designed for food products with information on fire-fighting topics have been released. During the heating period, the staff of the emergency department visited over 54 thousand residential buildings, covering 76 thousand people," said Rustambek Amrin, head of the Emergency Department of the Pavlodar region.
Employees of the Emergency Department of the Karaganda region, together with representatives of local executive bodies, the police department, and the print edition, organized an exit tour of the residential sector of the village of Kokpekty in Bukhar-Zhyrau district. During the tour, residents were explained the rules for the safe use of heating appliances, reminded of the importance of cleaning chimneys and observing fire safety. Carbon monoxide sensors have been installed in 5 families of the socially vulnerable segment of the population of the village of Kokpekty.
Rescuers of the Emergency Situations Department of the East Kazakhstan region and specialists of the Department for the coordination of employment and social programs within the framework of the ongoing fire safety month replaced and repaired faulty and dangerous furnaces in three large families of the Glubokovsky district. Now the furnaces effectively heat homes, are simple and convenient to operate and clean soot, which provides protection from carbon monoxide.
The emergency department of Kostanay region has carried out large-scale measures to prevent fires during the heating season. The action was attended by representatives of the gas service and the housing inspectorate, volunteers, local police officers, as well as cadets of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs named after Sh. Kabylbayev. As part of the event, the participants covered the Nadezhdinsky rural district. They held a dialogue with local residents and handed out fire safety memos. In addition, sensors were installed in a number of houses and chimneys were cleaned.
Work in this direction will continue until the end of the heating period in all settlements of the regions.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds citizens of the importance of observing fire safety rules and proper operation of heating appliances.
