As part of comprehensive measures to improve the sanitary condition and aesthetics of Almaty in 2025, it is planned to build 581 new container sites and install 1,683 containers of the buried type.
The relevant draft budget for 2025-2027 is planned to be considered at the upcoming session of the Maslikhat of Almaty. This was reported by the press service of the city Maslikhat.
Modern containers will help to optimize the use of space, reduce the occupied area, prevent the appearance of unpleasant odors and provide reliable protection from birds and stray animals. Today, 786 such containers have already been installed in the city, which is an important step in creating a cleaner and more comfortable urban space for residents.
In addition, in 2024, 1800 plastic euro containers with a volume of 1 m3 were purchased in Almaty for the collection of solid household waste. These containers will be transferred to garbage collection organizations, which will improve waste disposal processes.
Recall that in 2012, 197 deep-type container sites were built in Almaty and 1,001 containers were installed. However, over 10 years of operation in an aggressive environment, these containers have undergone significant corrosion. For further operation of containers in Almaty, new products are purchased from a domestic manufacturer, which uses primary food-grade environmentally friendly polyethylene of high quality.
These materials comply with international standards, and the production technology allows us to produce containers with a uniform thickness throughout the product, without seams and internal stresses, which significantly increases the reliability, strength and durability of containers.
