In 2025, Almaty plans to allocate 10.6 billion tenge for environmental projects, which is aimed at improving the quality of life of citizens and developing a comfortable urban environment. The relevant draft budget for 2025-2027 is planned to be considered at the upcoming session of the Maslikhat of Almaty. This was reported by the press service of the city Maslikhat.
Among the main directions are the greening of the city, improvement of infrastructure for the collection of solid household waste and landscaping of natural objects.
The greening project of the city includes the continuation of the planting of trees and shrubs, as well as the improvement of parks and green areas. This year, 170 thousand seedlings are planned to be planted in Almaty at the expense of budgetary funds, of which more than 110 thousand have already been planted since the beginning of the autumn planting season. This will help to increase the area of green spaces per citizen from 12.5 to 12.8 sq. m.
In addition, the solid waste collection system will continue to be updated in 2025. More than 2 thousand deep-type container platforms will be built in the city, which will improve the sanitary condition of the city. In addition, a project is being developed for a new landfill for solid waste disposal in the Ili district, which will help effectively solve waste disposal issues in the future.
Projects for the reconstruction of riverbeds such as Ulken Almaty and Kargaly, as well as the improvement of the Sairan reservoir, are aimed at restoring natural ecosystems and creating new environmentally friendly recreation areas for citizens.
