More than 200 organizations in the field of technical and vocational education have received licenses under the new system. This was reported at a meeting of the Staff Council of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Previously, licensing was issued only for individual qualifications, but now licenses will be issued for specialties. This measure will allow colleges to quickly adapt to changes in the economy, respond promptly to the needs of the labor market and expand their training opportunities.
"Now colleges will be able to move away from bureaucratic procedures to add new qualifications within the framework of licensed specialties and only need to confirm the compliance of their material and technical base and staff. In addition, modular educational programs allow students to master several qualifications within one specialty. This increases their competitiveness,” said Yernur Dauenov, Chairman of the Committee for Quality Assurance in Education.
Currently, regional departments of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan are conducting explanatory work among colleges, publishing information on official resources, and developing a schedule for reissuing licenses. This process is planned to be completed by March 1, 2025.
Colleges can now apply for licenses for new specialties or reissuing existing licenses. At the same time, the procedure and terms for providing public services will remain unchanged.
