A comprehensive work is underway to build and modernize water supply networks in the Abay region. According to the deputy akim of the region, Dmitry Garikov, it is planned to bring the indicator of providing the population with high-quality drinking water to 100% through the implementation of new projects.
"Today, one of the main tasks is to fully provide the region's residents with clean drinking water. For this purpose, 26 projects are being implemented, 15 of which are continuing from last year, and 11 are new facilities. 2.7 billion tenge has been allocated from the republican and local budgets for these works, and an additional 4.4 billion tenge is needed. Relevant applications for the allocation of funds have been submitted,” said Dimitriy Garikov.
The deputy akim also noted that work on the renovation of existing water pipelines is also in full swing.
“Currently, 14 projects are being implemented to reconstruct old water pipelines, and documents for 22 more projects have been prepared. 8.6 billion tenge are allocated for the implementation of four projects, and about 23 billion tenge are needed for new projects,” he said.
