"Village - the cradle of the nation": a large-scale project for the future of the village projects
24.02.2025 03:09:49 297A round table on the development of rural areas, including border villages, was held under the leadership of Serik Egizbayev, Chairman of the Committee on Agrarian Issues of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The meeting was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Mazhilis Albert Rau, deputies, representatives of relevant ministries and national companies.
Vice Minister of National Economy Bauyrzhan Omarbekov made a report and presented current measures and new approaches to the integrated development of rural areas. According to him, as of January 1, 2025, there are 6,147 rural settlements in Kazakhstan with a population of 7.5 million.
Currently, on the instructions of the Head of Government, the Ministry of National Economy has begun developing a concept of regional policy until 2030. In order to improve new approaches, a project office for regional policy has been created, - said Bauyrzhan Omarbekov.
Particular attention is paid to the development of infrastructure. In 2024, the provision of basic services reached 64%, and 701 billion tenge was allocated for the modernization of villages within the framework of the "Village is the cradle of the nation" project. 6.6 thousand infrastructure projects, including housing and communal services, social and transport facilities, have been implemented.
The importance of developing border areas to ensure the protection of state borders was noted. 14 regions in Kazakhstan have borders with neighboring states, and 66 border districts are home to 1,383 rural settlements, two mono-industry towns and eight small towns.
As part of supporting rural entrepreneurship, 17 thousand microloans were provided for more than 100 billion tenge under the "Rural Trust" project, which allowed for the creation of 17 thousand jobs.
The introduction of wage supplements and special norms for calculating seniority for residents of remote border areas is being considered.
The measures taken are aimed at the comprehensive development of rural areas, job creation, infrastructure improvement, and improving the quality of life of the rural population.
