During a working visit to the Mersin province of the Republic of Turkey, a delegation led by the Governor of Zhambyl region, Erbol Karashukeyev, participated in the Kazakhstan-Turkey Investment Forum and held meetings with potential Turkish companies in the B2G format.

For government agencies and business representatives of the Zhambyl region and Mersin province, the forum became an important platform for strengthening business ties and comprehensively discussing opportunities for cooperation in the field of trade and investment.

Regional Governor Erbol Karashukeyev noted that such events will increase the interest of Turkish companies in expanding the scale of production in the Zhambyl region.

The head of the region also spoke about the high investment potential and advantages of the Zhambyl region and reported on measures to support important investment projects within the framework of the implementation of the instructions of the President of the country, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. He also noted the favorable climatic conditions of the region, its logistically advantageous geographical location, and the abundance of natural resources, including for the development of metallurgy, chemistry, and construction industries.

If we say that a favorable investment policy is being implemented in the region, then large projects worth $7 billion planned for three years can serve as evidence of this.

Yerbol Karashukeyev called on Turkish companies to invest in the region, drawing attention to the huge potential in the areas of agricultural processing, tourism, construction, mining,
creation of the production of cable products, ventilation and electrical equipment, pumps, as well as insulating materials.

- We are ready to support interested investors, provide wide-ranging preferences, and provide them with industrial premises with ready-made infrastructure. The construction of premises with an area of ​​​​40 thousand square meters is nearing completion. This year, another 100 thousand square meters is planned to be built. A separate department has been created to work with Turkey in the Zhambyl Invest Directorate, which is engaged in supporting investment projects, the regional akim said.

During the forum, the parties discussed the project to build a nuclear power plant in the territory of Mersin province, which has influenced the development of additional industries and increased the competitiveness of the economy.

The Zhambyl delegation expressed interest in considering the best practices of Turkish partners.

Deputy Chairman of the Mersin Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mustafa Özdamar noted that the province is a leader in attracting investment and highlighted the great potential for strengthening cooperation with Kazakhstan, including the Zhambyl region.

Deputy Governor of Mersin Province Irfan Demiroz noted that Kazakhstan and Turkey have maintained close cooperation for many years, and common historical and cultural ties are the basis of bilateral relations. He expressed his intention to expand cooperation with the Zhambyl region.

Also, the representative of KAZAKHINVEST in Turkey, Ersultan Zhanabayev, shared his thoughts.

The delegation of the Zhambyl region held meetings with Mersin entrepreneurs in the B2G format, which will help create direct communication channels and stimulate trade activity between the regions of the Zhambyl region and the Mersin province.

Representatives of the Mersin business community confirmed their readiness to jointly implement projects with the Zhambyl region in the areas of cement, diesel oil, solar panel production, fruit and vegetable processing, and other areas. During the meetings, each project was discussed in detail, and the head of the region fully answered all the questions of entrepreneurs.
