Akim of the region Nurlybek Nalibayev met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to China Shakhrat Nuryshev and expressed gratitude for assistance in organizing the working visit of the regional delegation in a short time and at a high level.
"As you know, the Head of State has instructed us to attract both domestic and foreign investments to implement large projects and improve the well-being of the population. Given the busy schedule, we have arrived with a delegation that includes experienced entrepreneurs. Today's meeting is an excellent opportunity to discuss the prospects for cooperation between the Kyzylorda region and China, for which I express my sincere gratitude. China is a reliable partner of Kazakhstan, and our region is keen to further develop mutually beneficial ties with Chinese companies. Two years ago, in 2023, a plant for the production of 5 million square meters of energy-saving glass per year was launched in Kyzylorda as part of the agreements reached. Four solar and one wind power plant, with a total capacity of 141 MW, are currently under construction. One of these projects is being carried out by the Chinese company "Huadian." I am confident that our current trip will also be productive thanks to your support. I wish you success in your diplomatic activities. I believe that our joint efforts will help strengthen Kazakh-Chinese cooperation," said Nurlybek Mashbekovich.
Over the past decade, industrial output in the area has been declining because of dwindling oil reserves; however, recent developments indicate an improvement. This positive change is attributed to the growth of the manufacturing sector. With the involvement of Chinese investors, the region now hosts factories capable of producing 1 million tons of cement and 197 thousand tons of sheet glass annually.
