During a working visit to the People's Republic of China, a delegation led by regional akim Nurlybek Nalibayev met with Shi Xiaolin, the governor of Sichuan Province. "Today, the One Belt, One Road initiative has become an international project and a major platform for cooperation. Our centuries-old ties formed along the Great Silk Road continue to develop, and the new Silk Road - the international transport corridor "Western Europe - Western China" connects Europe, Asia and the countries of the Middle East. China is our main trade and economic partner, the volume of mutual trade and investment is growing every year. I would like to note that in the Kyzylorda region, a solid foundation has already been laid for joint work with the Chinese business community and investors, and a lot of experience has been accumulated,” N. Nalibayev said.
The region is home to 15 companies engaged in oil production, with 8 of them being Chinese firms. Significant industrial initiatives are underway involving Chinese investors.
In collaboration with "China Gezhouba," a cement factory has been established, yielding an annual output of 1 million tons of cement. Additionally, a glass manufacturing facility with a production capacity of 197 thousand tons of sheet glass per year has been launched in partnership with "China Glass." Of the products from this plant, 30% are sold domestically, while 70% are exported to countries such as Russia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Georgia. Efforts are currently in progress to initiate new projects aimed at developing a glass cluster in the area.
