The delegation led by Nurlybek Nalibayev, the akim of Kyzylorda region, continued its working visit in Chengdu, China. Initially, the regional leader engaged in discussions with executives from China Minmetals Corporation and Hunan Nonferrous Metals Corp., Ltd. regarding the Shalkiya project.
"The Kyzylorda region is rapidly evolving and holds significant opportunities for collaboration and investment. It is recognized for its rich mineral resources, such as oil, gas, polymetallic minerals, and uranium. The area also boasts reserves of both ferrous and non-ferrous metals, as well as various minerals and rare earth elements. Today, Askar Tleulin, the head of Shalkiya Zinc, will provide an in-depth presentation on the zinc and lead extraction project at the deposit. N. Nalibayev emphasized that the region has considerable potential for projects related to mineral exploration, extraction, and processing. Furthermore, the regional akim engaged with leaders from "Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum Group," which operates in the oil and gas sector, and "Tongwei Group," which is involved in agriculture, to discuss investment opportunities.
The Kyzylorda region is also characterized as an agro-industrial area, with 25 companies involved in oil exploration and production across 49 fields. The region has a well-established agricultural and livestock framework, and significant efforts have been made in recent years to diversify crop production and enhance livestock numbers. N. Nalibayev expressed a willingness to learn from the successful practices of these companies and to collaborate. He assured that the regional akimat would provide support in accordance with existing laws and extended an invitation for a business visit to explore the region's potential further. The working visit of the regional delegation was facilitated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kazakh Embassy in China.
