Regional Governor Nurlybek Nalibayev met with the Vice Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan Serik Tulenbergenov. The meeting discussed flood prevention and other important issues.
In the region, relevant industry specialists (Kyzylorda branches of Kazhydromet and Kazsuchar RSEs) are conducting daily monitoring of water levels at stations and junctions in the Syrdarya Riverbed. Local executive bodies and water management specialists are on duty around the clock.
Funds have been allocated from the regional budget and a contract has been signed with Kazaviakutkaru JSC, in accordance with which 2 helicopters have been prepared. There is also a contract with a specialized institution for icebreaking.
Last year, funds were allocated from the regional budget for the repair and restoration of protective dams at 3 facilities, and appropriate work was carried out. In addition, 20 facilities were repaired and restored at the expense of extrabudgetary sources.
There are 37 hydraulic structures in the region. An inspection was conducted for 3 municipally owned reservoirs and a safety declaration was issued. Funding for major repairs is being considered this year.
In the event of a flood, 61 evacuation centers and 71 reception points are ready to evacuate the population. On February 6-7, the "Spring-2025" republican command and staff training exercise was held. 123 personnel, 23 equipment, 6 floating devices, 33 motor pumps and 2 helicopters are ready to combat floods.
At the meeting, S. Tolenbergenov stressed the importance of strengthening anti-flood measures.
It should be noted that the working trip of the Vice Minister of Emergency Situations to the Syr El region will continue in the districts.
