The head of the Karaganda regional police department, Negmet Ismagulov, met with representatives of non-governmental organizations.
During the meeting, the issue of joint work with representatives of non-governmental organizations in the fight against crime and monitoring public safety in the region was discussed.
- Today, we will discuss the work that we will do together with you this year. Thanks to the preventive work carried out last year, there is a noticeable decrease in crime. A lot of work has been done to protect the rights of citizens, in the family, and in the prevention of drug addiction. It should be noted that your contribution to this work is enormous, - said the head of the Karaganda regional police department, Negmet Ismagulov, during the meeting.
The police department works closely with public organizations on issues such as preventing drug crimes, domestic violence in the family, and preventing human trafficking. Last year, 500 raids were carried out to check the situation of disadvantaged families and provide them with assistance, while 297 people underwent rehabilitation in social support centers for domestic violence.
— Today, the police department is working with 15 non-governmental organizations in the region. There are 9 rehabilitation centers operating in the region that accommodate and work with those in difficult situations. About 300 people have undergone rehabilitation in those places to date, — said the first deputy head of the department, Zhaskairat Kairov, who spoke at the meeting.
Considering that the Minister of Internal Affairs declared this year the Year of “Prevention”, experts say that directing non-governmental organizations in this direction to public safety and crime prevention will contribute to reducing crime in the region.
— Working with state organizations is also beneficial for us. The public association “Future with Trust” is working in several areas. Many of these are conducted in conjunction with the police department. These include anti-bullying, cyberbullying, anti-gambling, anti-drugs, and juvenile delinquency. When working with universities, colleges, teenagers, and most importantly, parents, we always talk about the responsibility of a person before the law, before society, and even before himself, - says Indira Tokmurzina, head of the public organization "Future with Confidence".
At the end of the meeting, the head of the department Negmet Ismagulov signed a memorandum with the heads of public organizations who came to the meeting on joint work to maintain peace in the country, and presented letters of gratitude to representatives of non-governmental organizations that are actively involved in the fight against crime.
