Tax revenues in Medeu district of Almaty increased by 18.7% due to development of business and tourism

The results of the socio-economic development of the Medeu district of Almaty for the past year show positive dynamics. This was announced by the mayor of the metropolis, Yerbolat Dossayev, during a meeting with residents of the district.
According to the mayor, the number of operating business entities increased by 5.2% to 46.2 thousand. The volume of retail trade increased by 5% to 1.4 trillion tenge, and the construction sector increased by 38.7% to 101 billion tenge.
The tourism sector is also actively developing. Over 430 thousand tourists visited the Medeu district in the first 9 months of 2024, including 99,290 foreign guests. This is 6% more than in the same period in 2023, and the number of foreign tourists increased by 10%.
These indicators contributed to an increase in tax revenues in the Medeu district by 18.7%, to 443.1 billion tenge, as well as the creation of 8 thousand new permanent jobs.
Thanks to active economic development, the district budget increased by 32% in 2024, reaching 36.1 billion tenge, and in 2025 by another 6.4%, amounting to 38.4 billion tenge.
The main areas of work of the city and district akimats will be the further modernization of engineering and social infrastructure, as well as the active development of a comfortable urban environment.
