An exhibition on vocational guidance for students is being held in the "Zhastar" Palace in the capital, the official website of the Astana akimat reports.
The event was organized as part of the city competition "Professional guidance - the right choice - a successful career" among the capital's colleges.
The goal of the competition is to popularize working professions within the framework of the "Working Professions" Year. The competition has also become a new environment for communication and interaction between students of the city's colleges.
"25 state and private colleges of Astana are participating in this competition. All of them will show the audience a vocational guidance program for city students. By the way, more than half of the audience were schoolchildren, the rest were students who came to support and cheer on the representatives of their college,” said Nazira Togaibaeva, deputy director of the Vocational and Technical College of the Astana Akimat for vocational education.
In the foyer of the “Youth” Palace, a vocational orientation exhibition was presented to about 30 college students, and on the second floor, designers, hairdressers and representatives of other professions studying in secondary specialized educational institutions demonstrated their skills through master classes.
“I think that declaring 2025 the “Year of Working Professions” in Kazakhstan was an important and timely step. Currently, many young people strive to obtain higher education. Often they underestimate the importance of working professions. However, it is the Year of Working Professions, which is the basis of the economy, and the development of our country is impossible without qualified personnel in industry, construction, agriculture and other sectors,” says Maksat Serikuly, a graduate of the Vocational and Technical College of the Astana Akimat.
