On the eve of World Civil Defense Day, the Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Major General Chingiz Arinov, visited the 52859th military unit of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after Martbek Mamyraev, located in the Karaganda region. During the working trip, he handed over the keys to new special equipment to the servicemen, strengthening the combat capabilities of the civil defense unit.
Military rescue vehicles based on KamAZ and Toyota Hilux were solemnly put into service with the unit.
Chingiz Arinov noted that the modernization and technical equipment of civil defense will be a priority. In 2025, 72 units of equipment were purchased, including unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as modern clothing, equipment and weapons for personnel.
“Providing the department’s rescue military units with modern equipment and equipment is a guarantee of speed and efficiency in the fight against emergencies. "We will continue systematic work to strengthen the material and technical base in order to be ready for any challenges, including the upcoming flood period," the minister noted.
During the visit, Chingiz Arinov got acquainted with the service conditions of officers and soldiers, checked their readiness for emergency rescue operations, and supervised preparations for the military parade dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. This year, the Ministry of Emergency Situations will present a parade report and military equipment of its units in the capital of Kazakhstan at the parade.
The military units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations' Civil Defense perform tasks related to protecting the population, objects and territories from natural and man-made emergencies, as well as conducting emergency rescue and urgent work. For rapid response, forces and means were distributed by region, namely in Karaganda, Semey, Aktobe, Almaty regions, as well as in Almaty, Uralsk, Ust-Kamenogorsk and Kostanay.
Since the transfer to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the units have participated in the elimination of 451 emergency situations and saved 2,513 people.
