How the Karaganda region will celebrate Thanksgiving Day

In Kazakhstan, March 1 is Thanksgiving Day. It was established in 2016 to express gratitude to the Kazakh people for the hospitality shown to immigrants in the 30s and 40s of the last century. On this day, concerts, charity events, festivals, exhibitions, round tables, etc. are held in the Karaganda region.
Karaganda
On February 28, at 12:00, the exhibition-fair "Craftsmanship - Your Spiritual Companion" will open at the Karaganda Regional Museum of Fine Arts. It will be open until 18:00 on February 28, as well as from 10:00 to 18:00 on March 1 and 2.
On March 1, at 10:00, the regional forum "Humanity is a Noble Virtue" dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan and Thanksgiving Day will begin. The forum will officially announce the start of the republican contest "Caravan of Kindness".
On this day, at 12:00, a ceremony of laying flowers at the Independence Stele will be held in the central square of the city.
At 14:00, the XI Romanian Folklore Festival "Mărțișor-2025" will begin at the Friendship House. The festival's headliner will be Honored Artist of Moldova Lenuta Gheorgheță. In addition, a gala concert, a demonstration of Romanian national costumes and traditional household items, and an exhibition of books and photographs will be organized. Admission is free.
On March 1, at 12:00, the Railway Workers' Palace of Culture will host the "One Country - One Nation" folk life festival dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan.
The new Maykuduk Palace of Culture will host the "Thank you - your native country" concert program.
Temirtau
On February 28, at 15:00, the Temirtau Museum of History and Local Lore will host a festival dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan and Thanksgiving Day. Guests of the event will be interactively introduced to the cuisine, clothing, lifestyle and traditions of various ethnic groups living in modern Kazakhstan.
On March 1, at 11:00, a festive concert entitled "Thank you to my boundless homeland" will be held at the Metallurgists Palace of Culture with the participation of the FOLK SYMPHONY ethno-folk orchestra.
Saran
On March 1, at 11:00, a solemn concert entitled "Do good" will be held at the House of Culture.
On March 1, a business conference dedicated to the Day of Thanksgiving "We are the united people of Kazakhstan" will be held in the Centralized Library System. During the event, the results of the work of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan and ethno-cultural associations will be discussed.
On this day, the city will hold a "Thousands of thanks!" action will be held.
Shakhtinsk
On March 1, a ceremony of honoring patrons "From Heart to Heart" will be held.
On this day, national and board game competitions will be held at the "Aksuek" sports club.

On February 28, a concert entitled "A Thousand Thanks to You, Kazakh People" will be held on the stage of the Zhandarbekova Cultural and Entertainment Center.
In addition, five-asyk games, cross-country skiing and volleyball competitions dedicated to Thanksgiving Day will be held from March 1 to 3.
Round tables, festive concerts, and competitions will be organized in the villages of the district.
Abay district
On February 28, the winners of the festival-competition "Dostyk, Birlik, and Kelism Oui-Ornegi" will be awarded.
Also, exhibitions, charity events and challenges will be held in the district by March 1.
Aktogay district
On February 28, a festive concert dedicated to Thanksgiving Day will be held at the district cultural and recreation center.
Round tables, meetings, concerts and charity events will also be held in the villages of the district.
Nura district
On February 28, at 11:00, a round table will be held on the topic "The Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan - a unique example of cultural dialogue".
Bukhar Zhyrau district
On February 28, a round table will be held on the topic "Unity in Diversity". Also, charity events and challenges will be organized on the occasion of the holiday.
Priozersk
On March 1, hot tea will be distributed to residents on the streets of the city. A drawing competition will also be held on the occasion of Thanksgiving Day.
