In accordance with the instructions of the Head of State, about 1,300 schools will be renovated in Kazakhstan over the next three years, more than half of which (54%) are located in rural areas. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The project is being implemented in nine main areas that meet modern educational standards. The renovation includes major repairs to schools, equipping them with modern classrooms, updating school furniture, modernizing libraries and canteens, building or reconstructing gyms, equipping recreational areas and public spaces, and introducing new security systems. "The state annually allocates funds to improve school infrastructure. In 2025, the renovation will cover 262 schools, 141 of which are located in rural areas. "About 200 thousand students will study in the renovated buildings," noted Roza Sembayeva, Deputy Director of the Infrastructure Development Department.
The work includes replacing the roof, updating facades and windows, and overhauling engineering communications - heating, water and electricity supply, sewage and ventilation systems. School areas will also be improved and landscaped.
The project is designed for three years: in 2025, 262 schools will be renovated, in 2026 - 436, in 2027 - 466. In addition, in 2028-2029, another 67 schools are planned to be renovated in the Zhambyl region.
