The working visit of the delegation led by the regional akim Nurlybek Nalibayev to the People's Republic of China continues. The head of the region met with the governor of Ningxia-Hui province. The meeting was attended by heads of responsible industries and representatives of the business community, where issues of cooperation between the two countries, processing of agricultural products, alternative energy sources, construction industry, mining industry, and mechanical engineering were discussed.
“We arrived on a special delegation on the instructions of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Kemelovich to attract advanced Chinese technologies to domestic production. The ties between Kazakhstan and China have developed over the centuries along the Great Silk Road, uniting us in close trade and economic relations that have brought the West and the East closer together. Today, the “One Belt, One Road” initiative has not only revitalized this direction, but also strengthened its role on the world stage. Trade caravans still pass through the new Silk Road - the international transport corridor “Western Europe - Western China”, connecting the countries of Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
We are interested in mastering advanced technologies and experience in the fields of deep processing of agricultural products, alternative energy sources, the construction industry, mining, and mechanical engineering, and we have brought with us information about the investment potential of the region and teasers of 60 investment projects. We will create all conditions. We will provide engineering infrastructure, provide discounts, and participate in the sale of manufactured products,” the head of the region said.
15 oil producing companies operate in the region, 8 of which are Chinese enterprises. Large industrial projects are being implemented with the participation of Chinese investors and are operating steadily.
In December 2018, a cement production plant worth 137.8 million US dollars and with a capacity of 1 million tons per year was launched in cooperation with the China Gezhuba company. In October 2022, the first glass plant in Kazakhstan was opened with the participation of the China Glass company, worth 90.4 million US dollars and with a capacity of 197 thousand tons per year. Since its launch, the plant has produced more than 31.4 million square meters of products worth 76.7 million US dollars. 30% of which is sold to the domestic market, and 70% is exported to Russia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Georgia.
Today, active work is being carried out within the framework of new accompanying projects aimed at creating a glass cluster and producing various glass products. Last June, 5 million US dollars per year were produced in Kazakhstan. A new line for the production of energy-saving glass has been launched. In addition, there are projects for the production of mirrors, tempered glass, automotive glass, and glass bottles.
Also, construction of 4 solar and 1 wind power plants with a capacity of 141 MW is underway.
