Regional Governor Nurlybek Nalibayev met with the Head of Shaanxi Province Zhao Gan during his working visit to the People's Republic of China.
The meeting was attended by heads of responsible industries and representatives of the business community, and issues of cooperation between the two countries, development of trade and economic partnership, and attraction of investment were discussed.
"We arrived on a business trip with a special delegation on the instructions of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Kemelovich to attract advanced Chinese technologies to production.
The operation of the Consulate General of Kazakhstan in Shaanxi shows that this province is important for us. Today, Kazakhstan is China's main trade and economic partner in Central Asia. Mutual trade and investments are growing every year.
I would like to note that the Kyzylorda region is a region that has accumulated extensive experience in working with Chinese investors.
Oil and gas is one of the most important industries and the basis of the regional economy. The share of this industry is more than 48.7% of the region's industrial production and employs about 10 thousand people.
The advanced technologies in the fields of deep processing of agricultural products, alternative energy sources, construction industry, mining industry, and mechanical engineering are very valuable for us. We have come here specifically, interested in mastering achievements and experience in all areas.
I would like to take advantage of today's opportunity to invite Chinese companies to invest in Kazakhstan. We will create all the necessary conditions. We will provide engineering infrastructure, there are discounts, and we will participate in the sale of manufactured products," said N. Nalibayev.
In turn, Mr. Zhao Gan expressed his readiness to strengthen ties between the two countries and support investment projects.
China is the largest trading partner of the Kyzylorda region and accounts for about 60% of the region's foreign trade volume, followed by Russia - 23.3% and European countries - 8%. Mainly oil products, oilseeds, fish products and unprocessed aluminum are exported to China. The main import items are machinery, equipment, polymers and building materials.
The working visit of the regional delegation led by the head of the region was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the People's Republic of China. Negotiations will continue in other cities.
