Cultural event dedicated to Nurpeis Baiganin's 165th birthday held in Almaty

A cultural and educational event entitled "Er turala zhyr" was organized at the State Central Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the occasion of the 165th anniversary of the birth of the people's poet Nurpeis Baiganin.
The purpose of the event is to promote the poet's creativity to the younger generation and glorify national values.
Nurpeis Baiganin is a poet, zhyrau, Honored Artist of Kazakhstan. At the age of 15-16, he became a "child zhyrshy", participated in aitys and recited heroic poems by heart. The poet has such famous epics as "Karasai - Kazi", "Narkyz", "Akkenzhe".
Poems such as "Elegy of a Man", "Twenty-five" inspired the soldiers and brought Victory Day closer.
During the event, the audience was presented with photo documents of Nurpeis Baiganin, which are kept in the museum collection.
In addition, the great-grandson of the poet, members of the Writers' Union of Kazakhstan, spoke at the meeting.
