Akimats of districts and cities of the Akmola region were instructed to implement the delivered KPIs on investments
At the meeting of the Akim of the Akmola region, chaired by the akim of the region, Marat Akhmetzhanov, issues on measures being taken to attract investments were considered.
The current situation and their effectiveness in attracting investments were reported by the acting head of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Industry Bakhytzhan Sapar and the director of the Investment Development Center “Akmola Invest” KMU Aidos Zhurginov.
According to Bakhytzhan Sapar, the volume of investments in fixed capital in the regional economy at the end of 2024 amounted to 562.8 billion tenge. The share of private ownership amounted to 59.6% of the total volume of investments.
Today, a number of measures are being taken in the region to attract investment. Taking into account the forecast of the average annual dynamics for 3 years, the calculation was carried out by region to achieve KPIs, taking into account the share of each region.
In 2025, it is planned to launch 221 projects worth 279.3 billion tenge, creating 2.7 thousand jobs in all industries, including the SME sector. These include the production of zabutovka bricks in the Arshaly district, the construction of a mining and enrichment plant based on kaolin from the Alekseev deposit in the Zerendy district, etc. projects. The pool of investment projects after 2025 includes the construction of a deep grain processing production complex with a capacity of 1 million tons of monosodium glutamate by Dalian Hesheng Holdings LLP for 720 billion tenge, and the construction of a new plant in Kokshetau for 180 billion tenge. tenge includes the construction of a 630-bed multidisciplinary regional hospital by “Renell Kokshetau” LLP and other projects. In addition to the development of the “Aqmola” republican zone, regional industrial zones are being created in the region in the Tselinograd district and in the city of Kokshetau. Today, the akimat of the regional center has allocated land within the industrial zone for the future construction of the largest oil extraction plant in Central Asia.
Also, a regional investment program for the Akmola region has been developed, which will be targeted at all foreign embassies. In addition, a Regional Investment Headquarters has been established in the region.
Aidos Zhurginov, Director of the Investment Development Center “Akmola Invest” KMU, presented in detail the work done to attract investors to the region. In particular, the Investment Attraction Center is the only such center that independently and independently develops the investment attractiveness of the region.
“The Head of State noted at an expanded meeting of the Government the importance of attracting investment to all sectors of the economy. Today, all the investments you have indicated have not yet been put into operation, there is no real economic development. Investment is not just an indicator that needs to be achieved, everything must be focused on results. It is necessary to radically change the investment trend. Now we need to act quickly and decisively,” the head of the region noted.
The regional akim noted that investment activity is an indicator of the development of the region, its attractiveness for Kazakhstani and foreign business.
Following the meeting, the Department of Entrepreneurship and Industry, together with the akimats of districts, cities, and sectoral departments, was tasked with ensuring the implementation of the delivered KPIs on investments in fixed assets, the timely implementation and support of all investment projects from the stage of land acquisition to reaching design capacity, the commissioning of projects of the nationwide pool announced for 2025, ensuring the full operation of the Akmola Invest center, attracting investors to priority sectors, and implementing new investment initiatives of large business entities operating in the regions.
