According to the Law "On Advertising", it is prohibited to advertise bookmakers and totalizators through the mass media. Advertising of bookmakers is allowed only in mass media that are registered with the authorized body and specialize in sports. In addition, advertising of bookmakers and totalizators is not allowed in sports sections or programs on TV channels.

In this regard, as a result of the analysis conducted, it was determined that advertising of bookmakers was illegally placed on the website www.nur.kz (Internet Portal Nur LLP). The case was referred to court on this fact, and the Specialized Interdistrict Court for Administrative Offenses of Astana confirmed that the portal violated the law. In February 2025, an appeal was considered, and the original court decision remained unchanged.

The Ministry considers this case as a legal precedent and warns that administrative measures will be taken against mass media outlets that have committed such violations. It also continues to monitor the implementation of legislation in the field of advertising and calls on all advertisers to comply with the current requirements.
