A solemn event entitled "Gratitude is a sign of humanity" was held in Shymkent on the occasion of Thanksgiving Day and the 30th anniversary of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan.

The mayor of the city, Gabit Syzdykbekov, together with members of the Assembly, deputies and representatives of ethno-cultural associations, laid wreaths at the monument "Thanks to the Kazakh people!" and took part in the opening of the memorial plaque "30 years on the path of unity and harmony." The participants welcomed the "Caravan of Gratitude" consisting of representatives of ethnic groups and viewed an exhibition of ethno-cultural associations.

The mayor of the city read out the congratulatory message of the President of Kazakhstan to the members of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan and congratulated the residents on the holiday. In his speech, he noted that the day is a symbol of kindness and unity, mutual respect, and the importance of supporting each other.

Gabit Syzdykbekov also noted that our country has become a common homeland for representatives of different nationalities, overcoming difficulties and creating an independent state, and has become an example of friendship and unity.

“Our people have always shown generosity and hospitality, welcoming immigrants with open arms. This day is a special day to express gratitude to every citizen who contributes to the development of the country,” said G. Syzdykbekov.
Let us recall that the Day of Thanksgiving, established on the occasion of the establishment of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, has been celebrated since 2016. The holiday has become a symbol of harmony and mutual respect.
