On Thanksgiving Day, a commemorative plaque "30 Years on the Path of Unity and Harmony" dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the People's Assembly of Kazakhstan was installed on the wall of the Friendship House building, the regional akim's press service reports.

The solemn event was attended by the regional akim Serik Shapkenov, representatives of ethnocultural associations and residents.

The Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan was established in our country 30 years ago on March 1. Over the years, the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan has played an important role in maintaining interethnic harmony in the country and has become a unique example of a platform for dialogue between society and the state.

Then an event dedicated to Thanksgiving Day and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan was held. At the meeting, Serik Shapkenov visited the exhibition of the regional Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, and then read a congratulatory letter from the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

- The active activities of the Assembly have paved the way for the harmonious development of the language, culture and traditions of all ethnic groups in the country, as well as raising the status of the Kazakh language as a language of interethnic communication. I believe that you will work tirelessly to maintain peace and stability in the country and strengthen national unity. May you achieve many successes! I wish you all good health and prosperity! - the congratulatory letter states.

The solemn event was followed by a festive concert of the Dostyk Uy ethnic cultural associations and local artists.

There are 18 ethnic cultural associations in the Atyrau region. The Assembly has such structures in the region as the Mothers' Council, the Elders' Council, Ethnocultural Associations, Journalists' Club, the Assembly Youth Representative Office, Ethnomediation, Information and Interpretation Group, the Generous Soul Center, and the Scientific and Expert Group.

Last year, more than 700 events were held in the region within the framework of the approved action plan of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan for the implementation of state policy in the field of development of public harmony and national unity, reaching more than 23 thousand people.
