During his working visit to Kurchatov, the Akim of Abay region Berik Uali also got acquainted with the work of the city's heating boiler and the city hospital.
There are 4 heating boilers in the city. The head of the region visited boiler house No. 1, which provides heat to 30 multi-storey residential buildings, 1 social facility, 4 budget institutions and 3 commercial organizations in the city. Last year, 4 furnaces in the boiler house were repaired and 2 old furnaces were replaced.
The regional akim also got acquainted with the life of the city hospital in Kurchatov. Today, 153 people work in the medical institution. 24 of them are doctors. In 2024, a major overhaul of the first floor of the hospital was carried out. This year, funds were allocated from the regional budget for a major overhaul of the 4th floor of the hospital. The head doctor of the hospital told the regional head that there was a shortage of 5 specialists and asked to help solve the problem of staff shortage.
"It is important to attract young specialists to the healthcare sector. I will instruct the city akim to provide them with housing. The hospital needs to be fully modernized. We need to take appropriate measures so that residents do not have to go to Semey, but receive quality treatment here. Please make appropriate recommendations,” the regional akim said.
The head of the region also visited the Nuclear Technologies Park and the Radiation Technologies Complex and got acquainted with the work of the museum at the national nuclear center.

A “Gratitude Caravan” began in the Zhetysu region on the occasion of Thanksgiving Day. As part of the event, the “Zhomart Zhan” center, one of the structural divisions of the regional Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, and the regional Council of Business Women provided charitable assistance to 100 families, the press service of the Zhetysu region akim reports.
In general, a number of events were organized in the region on the occasion of Thanksgiving Day.
First, according to the established tradition, the public took part in the ceremony of laying wreaths at the “Thanks a thousand to the Kazakh people” monument located in the Bastobe village of the Karatal district. On behalf of the head of the region, the deputy akim of the region Dias Esdauletov congratulated the participants of the gathering.
Also, at the gathering in front of the monument, the chairman of the council of elders of the regional Korean ethnocultural association Viktor Pak spoke:
- Although the echoes of the tragic years of the 1930s are long gone, they are still in our memories. More than 130 thousand Koreans immigrated to Kazakhstan. Despite the hardships they themselves faced, the Kazakh people embraced our ancestors, who suffered, starved, and were separated from their homeland, and shared everything they had with them, helping them build shelter and improve their lives. Thanks to this, the deported people did not feel alienated, but accepted the Kazakh land as their own homeland. Therefore, on March 1, Thanksgiving Day, I would like to thank all the Kazakh people, - he said.
Veterans were not left out of this holiday. Deputy Akim of the region Dias Esdauletov congratulated 20 veterans of the Assembly and 3 veterans of the Great Patriotic War and expressed his best wishes on behalf of the regional leadership.
On this day, members of the Assembly, as part of the "Our Children" campaign, specially visited the regional perinatal center to congratulate young mothers and presented them with necessary sets for babies born on this day. One of the honored mothers, Asem Maldybekova, gave birth to her eighth child - a girl - today after seven sons.
- Our eldest son is in grade 11, and the youngest is 1 year old. Now, our family is growing with a little baby. My husband is a truck driver. We are discussing how to name our daughter. We are thinking about giving her the name Iltipat. I would like to thank all the citizens who are paying tribute to us today, - says A. Maldybekova.
Also, today, charity events were held for 100 low-income families in all districts and cities of the region.
Let us recall that more than 70 complex events are planned to be held in connection with the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, and in parallel, a memorial plaque was installed today at the House of Friendship in Taldykorgan.
