Today, a number of companies from the Karaganda region are cooperating with a large oil operator - Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. A consortium delegation led by CEO Marco Marsili arrived in the region to discuss the prospects for expanding the partnership. As a result of the working trip, a memorandum was signed with the regional akimat, the purpose of which is to support local producers.
The delegation visited a number of enterprises and got acquainted with the production.
An exhibition of products from regional producers was also organized on the site of the Regional Chamber of Entrepreneurs. Then a round table was held with the participation of representatives of industrial enterprises.
- Karaganda region is one of the leading industrial centers of the country. Kazakhstani flat rolled products, more than a third of hard coal and all coking coal, refined silver and gold, copper, ferroalloys, etc. are produced here. Regardless of the direction of raw materials, we are working to change the structure of the economy. We are opening import-substituting production in the fields of mechanical engineering and construction. We are working on expanding industrial sites. The industrial potential is capable of supporting large companies in Kazakhstan, including Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V., - noted the regional governor Yermaganbet Bolekpayev.
The head of the region noted that support for investment projects is being carried out at all levels: from the initial cycle to full production launch. Last year, the volume of investments exceeded 1.4 trillion tenge.
The meeting discussed the priority of developing local content.
- Kazakhstan has enormous potential in the industrial sector, and we are trying to expand our cooperation with local enterprises. The level of production that we see today confirms that regional companies can become reliable business partners, - said Marco Marsili.
The program for developing local content was presented by Mukhtar Mankeyev, Deputy General Director of KPO.
- Today, we have 86 companies from the Karaganda region registered in the KPO database. We have concluded contracts with 23 companies for about $49 million, he said. “There is an interesting case – the isolation of engineering services: design, exploration work, etc. For the first time in our history, a joint venture in the Karaganda region has received a long-term contract for the implementation of high-tech engineering works. We have created very good conditions for our Karaganda partner. Work has now begun at the Karachaganak deposit.
He also gave an example of a company that supplies LED lamps. And the KaragandaKazdorproekt enterprise carries out author's supervision of road and construction works.
Karaganda commodity producers were able to directly address the consortium management with their proposals.
