Almaty region governor Marat Sultangaziev met with children from orphanage No. 1 in Almaty. Children who are currently studying in the city will continue their education in a familiar environment, while newly admitted children will be placed in the city of Kunayev.

In order to comprehensively study the situation, the regional governor held a meeting with representatives of the orphanage, including director Roza Bekisheva, teachers and children. The discussion was attended by the Ombudsman for Children's Rights Dinara Zakieva, the head of the regional education department Saltanat Bespaeva, the mayor of Kunayev and representatives of relevant departments. Earlier, the head of the education department Saltanat Dausbekovna visited the institution, got acquainted with the situation there, and listened to the opinions of employees on the issues of moving and maintaining their jobs. "The children said that they wanted to stay in Almaty, because adapting to the new environment and separation from the social environment can negatively affect their psychological state. This factor was taken into account when making a decision," noted the head of the region Marat Sultangaziev. In addition, the construction of a new orphanage is underway in the region. The modern building with a total area of ​​​​4,000 square meters is designed for 240 places. It provides comfortable living quarters, classrooms and recreation areas. A 900-seat school is located nearby, and a special bus will be allocated to transport children. The opening of the complex is scheduled for the summer. In addition, part of the new building will be transferred to the Nusupbayev boarding school, which is experiencing infrastructure problems.

Also, one of the buildings will be used for the needs of the Juvenile Adaptation Center (JAC), which will allow children from different regions of the region to be accommodated in one place, without being transferred to other cities. Representatives of the authorities emphasized that all decisions regarding orphans are made with their interests, comfortable living conditions and quality education as the main priority.

“Our goal is to create a favorable environment for children to feel safe and develop all-round. The children of orphanage No. 1 will remain in Almaty, and the newly arrived children will be placed in a modern complex in the city of Kunayev,” concluded Marat Sultangaziev.

As part of the meeting, the children of the orphanage visited the educational center and the tourist and sports complex. This program introduced them to future opportunities and development prospects.

“After visiting the construction site and presenting the passport of the future orphanage, we saw that very good conditions are being created for us and that there is no prison nearby,” shared Kirill Kapranov, a child of the orphanage.
