The "Kazsuchar" branch of the Turkestan region has sent 330 million cubic meters of water for desalination works this year. This is done to increase soil fertility and obtain a better harvest. To date, the winter desalination plan for the Maktaaral and Zhetysai districts has been implemented by about 80%. In the Maktaaral district, 34,456 hectares of land out of the planned 43,600 hectares have been cleared of salt. In the Zhetysai district, 42 thousand hectares of land out of 53 thousand hectares have been salted.
"The only way to get rid of soil salt is salting. In this case, it is very important to correctly determine the time and amount of salting, depending on the degree of salinity of the land and the mechanical composition of the soil. The branch plans to complete the pumping work in the first decade of March,” said Kazybek Bedebayev, director of the “Kazsuchar” branch of the Turkestan region.
