On the evening of March 19, the Embassy of Kazakhstan and the Embassy of Azerbaijan coordinated with the Hanoi College of Commerce and Tourism to organize the Nauryz New Year Festival with many unique cultural experiences.

Nauryz is one of the most important holidays in Kazakhstan, with a history of more than 3,000 years and recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage, and recognized by the United Nations as an International Holiday. This is a holiday that marks the Spring Equinox, when day and night are of equal length, symbolizing a new beginning, the victory of light over darkness, reflecting the desire for peace, prosperity and solidarity among peoples.

Similar to Vietnam's Lunar New Year, Nauryz is also an occasion for families to reunite, gather around the table, exchange best wishes and participate in meaningful traditional activities together.

At the event, guests performed an egg-breaking ritual symbolizing fertility, luck and new beginnings, jumped over the Nauryz Fire to remove negativity and lit candles on the Khontra tray - the traditional symbol of Nauryz, decorated with green barley sprouts and colorful sweets, symbolizing abundance and prosperity in the new year.

The Nauryz 2025 Festival was attended by Ambassador of Kazakhstan Kanat Tumysh, Ambassador of Azerbaijan Shovgi Mehdizada, Ambassador of Türkiye Korhan Kemik. In addition, the event also had the participation of many world-leading culinary experts such as Mr. Don David - Vice President of the World BBQ Association, Ms. Adrijana Alacki - President of Gastromak, Mr. Djordje Kostic - Honorary Lifetime Member of Worldchefs, Mr. Suleyman Kursak - President of the Denizli Young Chefs Association, Türkiye and Mr. Alan Payen - Senior Member of the Emirates Cuisine Guild, Worldchefs International Jury.
