Malaysian Business enhances cooperation with Kazakhstan

Kuala Lumpur, March 21, 2025 - The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Malaysia, B.Sugurbaev, held a meeting with the leadership of the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (NCCIM).
During the meeting concrete steps to promote business activity between Kazakhstan and Malaysia, as well as to strengthen logistics ties between the markets of Central Asia and ASEAN were discussed. The parties agreed to intensify the activities of the Kazakhstan-Malaysia Business Council and discussed NCCIM’s involvement in preparing for the upcoming meeting of the Joint Trade and Economic Committee (JTEC), which operates with the status of the intergovernmental commission.
Special attention was given to issues of transport connectivity. NCCIM representatives emphasized the importance of developing both passenger and cargo logistics, including direct air connections and railway routes through China. They also shared the results of their recent visit to the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, highlighting the region’s high level of logistical connectivity with ASEAN markets.
In the context of tourism development, NCCIM representatives specifically noted the significance of establishing direct flights between Malaysia and Kazakhstan, which opens new opportunities for expanding tourism and business ties.
The leadership of the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia noted the growing interest in Kazakhstan among Malaysian entrepreneurs and expressed their readiness to actively support the expansion of cooperation between the business communities of the two countries.
The parties outlined the next steps for collaboration across all key areas of the partnership.
