The continental championship takes place from March 25 to March 30 in the capital of Jordan - Amman. Competitions are held in Greco-Roman, women's and freestyle wrestling.

For a long time, Iran has dominated this type of martial arts in the Asian arena, but in recent years, Japan has increasingly regained its leadership position. At the 2024 Olympic Games, representatives of this country won eight gold medals, and, perhaps, according to experts, they will be the best in Jordan in the team competition.

But, of course, we are rooting for our people! The Asian Championship began with a Greco-Roman wrestling competition. And the first medal in this form was brought to Kazakhstan by Karaganda athlete Ibragim Magomadov. In the 77 kg weight category, our countryman was stronger than Amro Sadeh (Jordan) in the fight for third place. As a result, Magomadov won the bronze medal. Congratulations to the wrestler and his coaches! And we hold our fists for our legendary Elmira Syzdykova, who is already competing for medals at the Asian Championship in women's wrestling.
