In fulfillment of the Head of State’s instructions, the Anti-Corruption Agency pays attention to ensuring the principle of legality in education.

Thus, the Taldykorgan City Court announced the verdict regarding the chief accountant of the Department of Education of Sarkand District K. Kurmangaliyeva, accountants of the same department A. Muratova and A. Kalabaeva, head of the district branch of Kazpost JSC T. Taken, acting head of the "Aydana" kindergarten N. Balghabayeva and head of the regional office of the regional control department in the Jetiysu region U. Zhappayev.

K. Kurmangaliyeva, A. Kalabaeva, A. Muratova, and T. Taken were found guilty of embezzling budget funds totaling KZT 1.6 bln by transferring amounts above the established salary to the accounts of employees of the Department of Education.

N. Balghabayeva and A. Kalabaeva were found guilty of attempting to bribe U. Zhappayev, who, under the pretext of not conducting an audit of the kindergarten, took possession of their funds.

K. Kurmangaliyeva was sentenced to 8 years of imprisonment, and A. Kalabaeva, A. Muratova, and T. Taken received 7 years of imprisonment each.

N. Balghabayeva and U. Zhappayev were sentenced to fines of KZT 1.2 mln and KZT 1 mln, respectively.

In addition, the convicted individuals are permanently barred from holding positions in public service and in entities of the quasi-public sector.

The court ruling has not yet entered into legal force.

In accordance with subparagraph 1 of paragraph 3 of Article 77 of the Constitution and part 1 of Article 19 of the Criminal Procedure Code, everyone is presumed innocent until their guilt in committing a criminal offense is established by a court judgment that has entered into legal force.
