On March 28, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Lebanon Rasul Zhumaly met with the Secretary General of the Middle East Council of Churches Michel Abs. During the conversation, an exchange of views took place on issues of tolerance and mutual agreement between various religious confessions and movements in Kazakhstan and Lebanon. Was also discussed possibility participation of Secretary General M. Abs in the VIII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, which will take place in September of this year in Astana.

The Secretary General of the Middle East Council of Churches, M. Abs, announced his readiness to take part in the Congress. The head of the organization, which unites churches from a number of countries in the region, noted his intention to visit Kazakhstan, which occupies a special place in the area of strengthening interfaith harmony.
