On March 28, 2025, a regular meeting of the Anti-Corruption Committee under the Public Council of the region was held.

The event was attended by First Deputy Head of the Anti-Corruption Service Department of East Kazakhstan Region A.Ashikov, head of the named Committee A.Mukhtarkhanov, members of the Committee, as well as the leadership of sectoral government agencies.

The meeting discussed the construction of problematic facilities ("long-term construction"), the results of an external analysis of corruption risks in the tourism sector, as well as the sale of socially significant food products in the region.

In his speech, the first deputy head of the Anti-Corruption Service of the region, A.Ashikov, stressed that the interaction of the Public Council and the Anti-Corruption Service has become an important tool in combating corruption and improving the quality of life of citizens. He elaborated on the achieved results of joint activities in 2024.

During the meeting, the deputy akim of Katan-Karagai district and the deputy head of the regional construction department for long-term construction projects, including the reconstruction of water supply networks and facilities in the village of Topkain, as well as the construction of sports and recreation complexes in Katon-Karagai, Markakol districts and Ulken-Naryn district were heard.

In turn, the Deputy head of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Industrial and Innovative Development of the region reported on the progress of work to eliminate corruption risks in the tourism sector.

Information was provided by V. Berdnik, Director of the Association of Trade Entrepreneurs of the East Kazakhstan Region, and A. Donbaev, Chairman of the Board of the SEC Ertis, on problematic issues of the sale of socially significant food products in the region.

Following the meeting, government agencies were given specific recommendations on taking measures to prevent corruption risks and strengthen control in these areas.

The joint work of the Department and the Public Council will continue.
