International Children's Book Week has been celebrated annually on April 2 since 1956 by decision of the International Council, dedicated to the birthday of the Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen.   On this day, the Akmola Regional Universal Scientific Library named after Magzhan Zhumabayev hosted the opening ceremony of a large-scale, spring, festive, book week, which means that diverse educational events for children and adolescents will be held during the week (from April 2 to April 8).

On April 2, the Akmola Regional Universal Scientific Library named after M.Zhumabayev and Secondary school No. 12 jointly held the opening ceremony of the book week.   The guests of the event were elementary school students. The children read poems by famous poets of Kazakh literature, and the information background was a book exhibition. The students showed their horizons: they answered the quiz questions correctly and quickly, prepared by the librarians. No one was left without a gift that day. All students received ice cream from the sponsor of the event, Gormolzavod LLP.
