In the year of working professions, announced by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, special attention is paid to the training of qualified specialists. Petropavlovsk Professional College, located on the territory of the "Institution №48 and № 50", has been for many years not only educating convicts, but also providing an opportunity to receive high-quality education in sought-after professions, a state-issued diploma and employment opportunities.

In institution №48, the college trains bricklayers, carpenters, plumbers and electric and gas welders, and in the women's colony they train seamstresses, fashion designers and tilers. The term of study at the educational institution is 10 months and starts like everyone else on September 1. At the end of June, graduates receive a state-issued diploma.

Kuanyshbai Isenov, a master of industrial training at Petropavlovsk Professional College, has been working at Institution № 48 since 2018. In 1988, he graduated from the Karaganda Polytechnic Institute, and is a recipient of the Order of the Red Banner of Labor. Today, the management and staff of the institution and the college escorted Kuanyshbai Isenov to a well-deserved rest.

"Our professional college offers training in high-demand specialties, among which the profession of "electric and gas welder" is particularly popular. Until today, I taught a theoretical course on "Special technology for electric and gas welders and welding equipment." In addition, he conducted practical classes: mastering welding technologies, working with various metals, performing welding joints. The training is conducted in classrooms and workshops equipped with everything necessary for practical training. There are 25 welders in my group № 5. Some of them are familiar with welding and welding production, but have no special education. Of course, there are those who are getting acquainted with welding for the first time",- Kuanyshbai Isenov said.

The teacher believes that electric and gas welding training in correctional institutions is an important step towards the social rehabilitation of convicts. The acquired knowledge and skills give a chance for a new life after release, reducing the rate of recidivism and contributing to successful integration into society.
