The Republican championship among men and women in weightlifting was held in Kostanay from March 25 to April 2. The athletes of the Karaganda region won nine medals. And our world champion Artem Antropov set three records in Kazakhstan!

- Two in the clean and jerk and one in the combined, - said permanent coach of the record holder Ivan Snegurov, - Artem competed in the 109 kg weight category. Previously, the country's best result in the clean and jerk in this group was 219 kg. Antropov first made 220, and then pushed 231 kg, which is one kilogram less than the world record. As a result, in the total of the two–man event – the clean and jerk - he also updated the best record of the country, lifting 401 kg.

What can I say – bravo Artyom, congratulations to Ivan Sergeevich and new victories!

But the other members of the Karaganda region national team also showed excellent results in Kostanay.

Representatives of the "weaker" sex won three gold medals: Daria Balabayuk (59 kg), Olesya Terenyuk (45 kg) and Lyubov Kovalchuk (87+).

Men's results:

1st place - Yeshimbekov Nurbol (b/k 55), fulfilled the standard of the Master of Sports of the international class;

2nd place - Nikita Gramachkov (b/k 55), fulfilled the standard of the Master of Sports;

2nd place - Kirill Staroverkin (b/c 96 kg);

3rd place - Alexander Babenko (b/c 61 kg);

3rd place - Izmailov Vladimir (b/k 109+).

Well done! These guys are pupils of the School of Higher Sports Excellence, the boarding school of the Olympic Reserve College named after A. Moldagulova and the Regional Integrated Sports School.
