They took patronage and believed in them. A history of change in one school

In January 2025, an unusual event began in one of the large secondary schools of the Glubokovsky district of the East Kazakhstan region. The District Prosecutor's Office, with the active support of the Department of Education and the school administration, took over the patronage of teenagers who found themselves in a difficult life situation. This is how the leadership club was born under the symbolic name "Strength in Unity."

23 students in grades 7-8 got a chance to change. Instead of moralizing, trust. Instead of control, support. They were involved in sports, creativity, and joint activities. And after three months, instead of violations, success, instead of indifference– initiative, instead of isolation– performances on stage.

It is especially important that the prosecutor's participation was not limited to formal meetings. In his spare time from his main job, he came to school himself: he talked with the guys, played tennis and other sports with them, and shared his life experiences. These warm and simple moments had a powerful effect – the teenagers felt that they were really trusted and ready to be around.

The principal of the school and teachers played a major role in the implementation of the event. Thanks to their participation, it was possible to create an atmosphere in which the guys felt needed, heard and accepted.

The boys themselves organized the Nauryz – Meirim men birliktin Merekesi school holiday, proving that every teenager just needs a chance – and faith in it.

I believe that when adults truly take over the patronage of children – not in words, but in their hearts – not only children change. We are changing too. Because we regain our faith in goodness. These guys are not difficult. They just waited a long time to be heard. Today, the members of the club have become leaders in the school, and the "Strength in Unity" initiative is preparing to expand – first throughout the district, and then beyond. This experience is inspiring.

I am convinced that if we want to raise strong young people, we must first give them a sense of need. Not through fear, but through participation. Not through instructions, but through attention."

Given the success of this event, he instructed to implement it in other regions, where prosecutors will take patronage of specific schools. As representatives of the law, we realize that raising a decent generation is our common social responsibility. And we, for our part, are ready to take part of it on ourselves. After all, youth support is an investment in the future of the whole country.

As President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said, "Youth is the embodiment of all our hopes for a better future."

Let there be more such stories. After all, a strong country begins with strong youth — confident, respected and heard.
