Chisinau, April 4, 2025 – A festive event dedicated to the celebration of Nauryz was held at the Embassy of Kazakhstan to Moldova.

The event brought together representatives of official and diplomatic circles, business and academic institutions, the media community, as well as members of the Kazakh diaspora.

Ambassador of Kazakhstan Almat Aidarbekov delivered a welcoming speech highlighting the symbolic significance of Nauryz as a celebration of renewal, kindness and unity, as well as its cultural resemblance to the Moldovan holiday Mărțișor. He emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting national traditions, especially among young people and Kazakhstan’s friends abroad.

As part of the celebration, a master class on assembling a miniature Kazakh yurt – a unique element of nomadic life and architectural heritage – was held. Participants learned about the symbolic meaning of the yurt in Kazakh culture, explored the basics of traditional felt-making techniques, and crafted their own mini-yurt models.

The guests also had the opportunity to sample traditional Kazakh cuisine. Special attention was given to the festive pilaf, a symbol of generosity and respect.

The festive event was covered as part of the "Our Common Home" program on the national television channel "Moldova 1."
