Pavlodar businessmen should be involved in the sphere of processing actively. The issues of grain processing in the region were discussed in the meeting in the regional akimat.

The head of the Department of Agriculture Oraz Dyuzdenbayev said that in Pavlodar region the enterprises for processing grain operate at reduced capacity: flour mills use only 47% of their capacities and processing enterprises – only 40%.

“Last year the volume of flour production in the region amounted to 56 th tons, only 7.2 th tons are exported to Russia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and other countries. The number of mills increases in the countries of Central Asia. In 2016 grain processing enterprises produced 24 tons, 8,4 th – for export. These enterprises use only 40% of their capacity”, he added.

Oraz Dyuzdenbayev also told about low processing of sunflower. More than 1000 tons of vegetable oil was produced in 2016.

“About 70 th he of sunflower is planted only in Kachiry area, at average yield 7 c/he we will have about 49 th tons of sunflower! It turns out that we do not process any grain and sunflower. In this case, the Department of Agriculture, Department of Entrepreneurship and Investment Attraction Agency must work as much as possible to attract our investments for processing”, Bulat Bakauov said.
